Winter Work part deux and since one always could use another handbag…. Hand sewing the graphic appliques, patiently, does remind us of the art of craft, sometimes forgotten in our keyboards. The even stitches remind us of a well ragged paragraph.

Onethread friend Debra McManis has written and illustrated her first young reader, “Wonoma and the Seasons of Warm Moon”, a narrative about the Nantucket Wampanoag Native Americans. Wishing her luck in finding a publisher and hope our sample design pages help.

Winter Work

With the release of many onethread-designed craft books this year, we finally found one that did not require any knitting (we have several scarves going that just never get finished…)

Zakka Sewing, from Stewart Tabori Chang & Melanie Falick Books, contains the most precious projects. After deducing the easiest projects to get our feet wet, off to Purl for fabric selection (not an easy task). It was nice to hop off the computer for a winter afternoon.

The Privo for Clarks Fall/Winter 2009 photo shoot turned out great. Our many thanks to Bill Diodato, our star photographer (no, no, no Bill, you’re the star), who not only gave us amazing work, but entertained us with his rock show style.

And a few travels have brought us back to New York, inspired and ready for the fall. Thank you to our onethread friend and colleague, Peter Medilek, for including and hosting us in Berlin for his wedding.
